ABOUT JIVE
Jive comes in may forms and we teach the authentic flavour, rooted in swing dancing. This style evolved to be very popular and was sometimes described as Rock ‘n’ Roll. We start you with 6-beat single-time basics before adding fun variations to keep your dancing fresh.
Most of the music in this class is from the 1950s or in the style of that era.
Our Jive classes are also a great route into the other dance styles that we teach.
Partner dances generally have a "Leader" and a "Follower". We seek a reasonable balance in each class. Some class members learn both roles.
Apply with or without a partner.
COUPLES can choose if they want to remain together in the class or to sometimes spend time practicing with the other dancers.
